We want to hear from you
Since 2021, Project Groundwater has been working with communities to improve the understanding of groundwater flooding and explore ways to strengthen flood preparedness and resilience.
As we reach the final stages of the project, we'd like to hear from people who live and work within our pilot nine communities.
Whether you've been affected by flooding, attended one of our events, or are simply interested in flooding in your area, your views matter. Your response will help us build a better understanding of local experiences, community knowledge and shape future approaches to flood resilience.
What is the survey about?
The survey asks about:
- Your knowledge and experience of groundwater flooding;
- How prepared you feel for a future flood;
- Actions that may help reduce or manage flood risk;
- Your experience of project groundwater;
- What has worked well and what could have been better; and
- What information or support may be helpful in the future.
Your answers will help us understand the difference Project Groundwater has made, record lessons from the project and identify what communities may need next.
Who can take part?
We welcome responses from people who live or work in a Project Groundwater community, including:
- Residents;
- Business owners;
- Community volunteers;
- Flood action group members;
- Parish and town council members; and
- Local organisations and community groups.
You can check if you are within one of our nine pilot communities here.

About Project Groundwater
Project Groundwater is a six-year programme working with communities in up to nine high-risk flood areas of the Chiltern Hills and Berkshire Downs. It is led by Buckinghamshire Council in partnership with five other local authorities and Flood Community Groups. This project is funded by Defra as part of the £200 million Flood and Coastal Innovation Programmes which is managed by the Environment Agency. The programmes will drive innovation in flood and coastal resilience and adaptation to a changing climate.
